Body Mechanics

The practitioner's use of their own body for effective, safe technique.

Body mechanics refers to how a massage practitioner uses their own body — posture, alignment, leverage, and body weight — to deliver effective treatment without injuring themselves. Good body mechanics allow practitioners to apply deep pressure without strain, maintain stamina through long sessions, and deliver consistent quality. In body glide modalities, the practitioner's entire body serves as the therapeutic instrument.
