Scope of practice refers to the range of services that a licensed or certified practitioner is qualified and legally permitted to provide. In bodywork, scope of practice varies by state, certification, and modality. Professional practitioners operate strictly within their scope, referring clients to other professionals (medical doctors, physical therapists) when issues fall outside their training.
