Trigger Point
A hyperirritable knot in muscle tissue that refers pain.
A trigger point is a tight area within muscle tissue that causes pain in other parts of the body (referred pain). For example, a trigger point in the neck might cause headache symptoms. Trigger point therapy involves applying sustained pressure to these knots until they release, providing relief from both the local tension and the referred pain pattern.
