Watsu
Water-based bodywork combining massage, stretching, and flotation.
Watsu (water shiatsu) is performed in a warm-water pool, where the practitioner supports, stretches, and massages the client while they float. The buoyancy of water allows for gentle spinal decompression, fluid movement through ranges of motion impossible on land, and a uniquely meditative experience. Watsu requires specialized training and dedicated warm-water facilities.
